James Matthew "JJ" Powell, Jr. is a character in No Ordinary Family.
Character Biography[]
JJ Powell is the youngest of the Powell family with the abilities of intuitive intelligence. Before the plane crash at the beginning of the series, JJ was an underachiever in the family and had a difficult time considering his mother is a professional scientist and his sister is a straight A student. Throughout the first couple episodes, JJ kept his power secret from his family until his sister Daphne found out. Later within the series, he is able to use his powers outside of math by using them to join the football team, and beating his grandfather at the pool and gaining his car (later given to Daphne). JJ is also able to see many other things besides football angles with his power. For instance, he can see the perfect place to strike an opponent.
Powers and Abilities[]
Superhuman Intelligence - JJ possesses a superhuman genius intellect. He is able to quickly learn and understand the complexities and exactness of any information or concept he is exposed to, as well as apply said information to solve or create new solutions to complex issues (No Ordinary Accident). JJ is able to quickly absorb any information he is exposed to, solve complex differential equations and multi-variable problems in his head, can learn and understand any information with impossible ease and possesses an almost limitless memorisation capacity.
Probability Perception - JJ is also able to analyse and visualise the variables of any situation, issue or concept he is confronted with in order to predict and perceive the paths that lead to certain outcomes, based on what choices are made (No Ordinary Vigilante).
Enhanced Awareness - According to JJ, his increased intellectual capacities also increase the percentage of his brain that he uses. As a side effect, JJ’s levels of attention and focus have increased, enabling him to be more aware of foreign mental intrusions; when Daphne attempted to mentally push him to drop an issue, he was able to quickly realise the desire to do so was not a product of his own thinking (No Ordinary Love).
